Safeguard your belongings in the libraries

As the new semester begins, this is a reminder that items of value that are left unattended can and do attract thieves.

Please take care to safeguard your belongings in the library and elsewhere. Take your valuables (including textbooks as well as calculators, cell phones, iPods, and wallets) with you when you step away from your study area, even if it is only for a brief period of time. Remember that the zipper of a book bag or the closed door of a study room are not effective deterrents to theft.

Please note also that laptop locks are available for three-hour loan periods at Skillman Library’s circulation desk.

The Office of Public Safety is continuing to investigate thefts of laptop computers that had been left unattended in the library last semester. If you have information about the thefts, please contact the Public Safety Office at (610) 330-5330.
